Happy Friday!
Here is your weekly snippet of what I’m loving, learning, following, buying, and reading!
- We are made wise not from the recollection of our past, but by responsibility for our future. ~ George Bernard Shaw
2. AT&T Call Protect is the app I am absolutely loving! Some days are worse than others for receiving those unwanted telemarketer or spammer calls. This app has been a godsend! This app is available for iOS and for Android.
Here are the features of this app:
Automatic Fraud Blocking detects and blocks calls from likely fraudsters.
Spam Risk Alerts identifies telemarketers and other suspected spam calls.
Personal Block List lets you block unwanted calls by number.
Enhanced Caller ID† identifies unknown caller details.
Reverse Number Lookup† provides details when you enter a U.S. number.
Custom Call Controls† lets you choose call categories to accept, block, or send to voicemail.
3. This is a Fantastic Friday, for sure! Looking forward to the weekend, though, and hitting the box office for Downton Abbey, the movie. It hits theaters today — yay! The television series was a favorite of my daughter’s and she’s the one that got me hooked. Read the blog post I created six years ago — oh, and it was published in The JCR too. It is still relevant for court reporters today.
4. Who I’m following this week is all about court reporting students! I am volunteering again this fall to teach an A to Z course in Memphis. I love participating in this program! Of course, the word is still slowly but surely getting out about our wonderful profession. Right now the class size is small and that suits my personality just fine. Plus, all the students will be receiving more hands-on guidance. WIN-WIN!
I would encourage my colleagues to check out the NCRA Students and Encouraging Court Reporter Students Facebook pages. Check this link out as well for more information to pass on to a prospective A to Z students regarding how to explore and learn steno, testimonials about the program, and scholarship opportunities.
